Boots – What to Wear

September 3rd, 2011 by admin

Other than picking up and moving abroad to a hot country there is no way we can avoid the winter months that are before us. Thus, we need to go shopping for our new winter wardrobe. We need to put our bikinis and flip flops to the back of the closet and bring out the woolley jumpers and thermal underwear. Now it’s not all doom and gloom with the bad weather, one thing we can get excited about is that we now have an excuse to go out shopping for our new winter boots. Keeping your feet and legs warm and dry in the cold weather is essential, not just for your comfort but for your health as well. Here is a look at some of the different types of boots there are available and what outfits you can wear with them.

Knee High Boots – this style of boot is usually worn for evening wear as they are a little flashy for during the day unless you are going somewhere where you can dress up more such as for the office. They can be worn with jeans, skirts and dresses and so they are very versatile in that respect. A great work outfit for knee high boots would be a skirt, shirt and jumper, knee high boots and black tights, it’s funky, professional and cute.

Ankle Boots – ankle boots are probably the hardest to wear boots out of the lot of them. The most popular and easiest outfit to wear ankle boots with is jeans or trousers, especially skinny jeans. You can wear ankle boots with skirts and dresses but be careful with the style of the boot and the dress / skirt, plus watch out and make sure it suits your body shape because they are sometimes not very flattering.

Ugg Boots – these pair of boots are the Queen of winter boots. They are fantastic because they can be worn with anything, literally. Ugg boots are not flashy or sexy but boy do they keep your feet and legs warm. They are very comfortable because they are flat and they are soft, so it’s like wearing slippers out and about except its ok because they are in fashion, brilliant.

Cosmetic Surgery Vacations

June 16th, 2011 by admin

Cosmetic surgery is becoming more and more popular. People all across the country are realizing that with a fairly quick procedure, they can have the appearance or body shape that they have always wanted. Unfortunately, many companies are using this growing cosmetic surgery trend to take advantage of people.

One of the ways they are doing this is by offering all-inclusive cosmetic surgery vacations to exotic locations like Brazil, Costa Rica, and Thailand. These vacations seem very popular and they look like a good idea because they pop-up all over the Internet, and advertise having wonderful amenities, like “credentialed” and “highly-trained” medical staff and private hospital services.

One of the reasons these cosmetic surgery vacations are rising in popularity is due to their price. Since cosmetic surgery is not often covered by your insurance, the cost of the procedure can be one of largest selling points. These all inclusive cosmetic surgery vacations can afford to provide lower prices by using overseas hospitals. Unfortunately, many times you get what you pay for and the vacation that seems too good to be true, actually is.

By choosing to have a cosmetic surgery procedure performed during one of these “vacations,” you put your overall health and even your life at risk. It is harder to evaluate the quality of overseas doctors because there is no international standard that all doctors are held to. Dangerous complications may lurk in offshore procedures because foreign facilities do not offer the same safeguards on equipment, emergency procedures, and personnel that the hospitals in the Unites State provide.

Also, the recovery process from a cosmetic surgery procedure is one of the most important parts of the procedure. Many times, during your recovery process, you are advised to stay indoors and relax by avoiding normal activities. Can you realistically imagine being able to enjoy the sun, surf, and sand while attempting to heal after a cosmetic surgery? Not only would you risk infection by allowing foreign substances into enter the surgery area, but also participating in water skiing, volleyball, or any other beach activities could severely damage whatever procedure you had.

Lastly, by having a cosmetic surgery procedure performed while on a “vacation,” you limit the amount of postoperative contact you have with the doctor or hospital. This means that if there are any complications during the flight home, or once you return, you are left without the plastic surgeon to ask questions. It could be difficult to find another plastic surgeon to help you with your situation if they did not perform the original procedure. Many times, revision surgery is more difficult than the initial surgical procedure, and it could even more difficult for the plastic surgeon if they did not perform the cosmetic surgery to begin with.

Even though it may seem like you are saving money by taking a cosmetic surgery vacation, if you consider the risks and costs of a cosmetic surgery vacation, like needing a revision surgery, it might not be a vacation at all, and it might cost you even more money. A better idea might be to stay at home for your cosmetic surgery.

If money is the biggest factor, contact a plastic surgeon near you and ask them about financing options. Most plastic surgeons will work with you so that you can afford you procedure and you will be able to recover from your procedure being comfortable in your own home and knowing that the plastic surgeon is near by.

The Best Tummy Tuck

May 15th, 2011 by admin

Each body shape is different and every tummy tuck is unique as well. When it comes time to tighten up the belly region, a person will want to make certain to get the proper procedure that is right for their physique.

Another name for a tummy tuck is an abdominoplasty. An abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure performed by a plastic surgeon in order to slenderize and flatten the midsection. There are actually four different levels of the operation which are geared for different figure problems. Which one is right for you?

1) The mini procedure: This is the one designed for a person with the least amount of belly bulge. If there isn’t a huge amount of fat and excess skin, this may be the proper selection. The area addressed by the mini is between the pubic bone and the navel. The incision type is a small curving line with a nearly invisible scar hidden along the pubic hair region.

2) Next up is the standard abdominoplasty. This is the proper choice for those with a bit more tissue and fat which must be removed. The belly button will most likely need to be relocated, as well, due to the larger amount of skin removal and repositioning. The internal connective tissue, sometimes referred to as the “inner girdle”, will need to be tightened up, as well. If this internal girdle is loose, the body’s organs will press outward, creating a protruding abdomen.

3) For another step up in belly tightening, there is an extended version. Although it is similar to the standard method, it is extended somewhat further into the hips and flanks. A person with redundant skin and bulges on the sides of their body, as well as their front, would be a good candidate for method #3.

4) The most aggressive of the abdominoplasty surgeries is called a body lift, or circumferential tuck. With this procedure, the surgeon makes an incision completely around the body’s circumference. The front, back, hips and buttocks would all be slenderized and tightened up.

Along with each of these four options, liposuction is often performed in order to get rid of excessive fatty deposits, as well. Liposuction is a method of fat removal in which the plastic surgeon makes small incisions in the region and then suctions it away via a cannula and a vacuuming device. A cannula is something like a magic wand, a slender tube which is able to produce a great physical improvement.

These tummy tuck procedures would be performed by a cosmetic surgeon in a hospital or clinical setting. An overnight stay may be required and drains will be placed in order to alleviate the build up of fluid. A compression garment or abdominal binder will need to be worn for several weeks as the body adjusts to its new shape.
