Construction in Colorado is one of the most exciting fields ever. From the Southern Rocky Mountains to the Colorado Plateau to the Great Plains, this state is full of a plethora of vibrant natural life. The population of the state has been estimated to be around 5,024, 748 as on 1 July 2009.
The capital of Colorado is Denver. It is also the most populous city of the state. In 2008, the gross state product was $248.6 billion. This is an affluent economic state with $41,192 as per capita income in 2007 which ranked it the eleventh in the United States.
Colorado construction jobs are located mostly in and around Denver and Pueblo West. There are many ways in which you can get hold of these jobs. You can search your local newspapers or check the net. But if you are outside the state but want to settle in it, then the net is your most trusted way to find out about construction jobs in Colorado.
Construction has a lot of jobs; you can find different fields to suit your qualifications and experience. If for instance, you are not very experienced in the specialized work but are good at driving, you can find the job of a truck driver in construction companies in Denver. Since Denver is the largest city and is developing at a tremendous rate, so it is natural for construction work in Colorado to be concentrated around this city.
But if you are looking for construction work in other places, then this is also possible. For instance, you have the job of a residential constructor in Centennial construction companies. Brighton is also a good place to find jobs of Construction Project Managers. The most important thing about these jobs is that they are based on contracts or for a particular project so once the job is over, you might have to find another job.
But construction jobs are plenty, so you can easily switch onto other jobs. Then there are other jobs like being an environmental Engineer at the site of construction. You will have to see that the construction is not breaking any environmental laws and is not a danger to public health. Jobs of this kind are usually concentrated around Denver.
Forklift Mechanics are in great demand in Colorado Springs. If you are a Pipeline Engineer, you just might find the right construction employment in Colorado at Durango.
Englewood is another place in Colorado with scope for jobs in construction in Colorado. You can work as an architect or metal fabrication project manager in construction companies at this place. There are many laboratories and factories in Colorado.
Be it Russell Stover Candies or Samsonite or Gates or Qwest, most of these companies have their main centers located in Denver. More companies continue to have their centers in the big city. Longmont, Boulder, Westminster and Windsor are some of the other places that provide good scope for jobs in construction in the state.
Construction in Colorado has provided for employment of a majority of the mass; the jobs are plentiful so get yourself one today!

Natural and organic skin care products are a thriving component of the cosmetic industry. Such products appeal to consumers because of the apparent lack of potentially toxic chemicals and absence of ill health effects. Yet, while natural products may seem harmless, three young men from Colorado recently found out how simple products harmless products like soap could turn into breast enhancing drugs.
Clifford Bloch, MD, a pediatric endocrinologist at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Science Center’s School of Medicine diagnosed the three otherwise healthy Caucasian boys, ages four, seven and 10 years, with gynecomastia. Prepubertal gynecomastia is a rare condition resulting in enlarged breast tissue in boys prior to puberty, and typically the cause remains unidentified.
All three young men had used skin care products containing lavender fragrances and tea tree oil. Once the patients stopped using the suspected products, the breast enlargements stopped or decreased.
Researchers at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) confirmed Dr. Bloch’s observations when they discovered a link between the use of products containing lavender and tea tree oils, and gynecomastia. The NIEHS study appeared in a February edition of the New England Journal of Medicine.
Presently, this oil and breast enlargement phenomenon applies to young males with unexplainable enlarged breasts who are regularly using products containing these essential oils. The oils did not alter the levels of the usual forms of circulating estrogens and androgens in the boys. Estrogens bring out the feminine traits like breasts and a menstrual cycle, while androgens evoke masculine traits like facial hair and a baritone voice. It is unknown whether the oils have similar endocrine disrupting effects in pre-pubertal girls, adolescents or adults.
Derek Henley, PhD, the lead NIEHS author on the study said, views the male breast enlargement as temporary and added, “We do not anticipate any long term effects on hormonal levels.”
To curtail similar reports of gynecomastia, Ken Korach, PhD, chief, Laboratory Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology at NIEHS and author on the study, recommended that, “doctors who may be seeing patients with gynecomastia to ask their patients about the products they are using. Patients with pre-pubertal gynecomastia may want to consider reducing the use of products that contain these oils,”
Young men can come into contact with tea tree and lavender oils when using nature-based acne treatments. While the validity of the effectiveness of these oils remains contested, studies have suggested the medicinal usefulness of essential oils.
For example, a study issued in the British Journal of Dermatology demonstrated that tea tree can reduce the size of inflamed lesions. Similarly a blend of lavender oil exhibited effects of improving mood, making people feel more relaxed, and performing the math computation faster as reported in the International Journal of Neuroscience.
Estrogens obtained from essential oils can be stored in the body’s fat tissues which may allow the estrogenic effects to linger for a few months after contact with the oil has ended. So for now, young men need not fear permanent breast enlargement from their hygienic regime.

Need a good dentist? What services should your dentist offer when you are choosing one?
No matter where you live, you have a lot of options when it comes to dentists and it can get fairly dizzying. Narrowing things down is very important when you are trying to find a family dentist, but that takes quite a bit of effort; especially if you are floundering about trying to find a dentist on your own! If you want to find a good dentist, then you should start making a few decisions on your own before you even start to look and then start narrowing things down from there.
The first things you should figure out is what you want your dentist to do for you. Do you just want someone to do a yearly cleaning and fix cavities or are you going to want more cosmetic work like teeth whitening on a regular basis, dental implants and capping done? How do you feel about different kinds of fillings-are you leery about some materials like mercury and thus want a mercury free dentist, or do you care about that? Keep in mind than a mercury free dentist can be hard to find, so once you do find one, you may want to hold on tight to that one! And of course you have to figure out what you can afford and what your insurance will cover. Some insurance companies only cover certain dentists and certain work done, so it’s important to consider your finances as well as what you want from your dentist. Keep in mind that the more services your dentist offers, the better because you never know when you will need something beyond cavity filling and cleaning.
Second, your dentist should also be able to do cosmetic work beyond simple general chores. For example, whitening is the most common service, but you may want more advanced work such as laser whitening, bonding, and tooth implants. While these sorts of things are not necessary in your dental health, they are very good for your self-esteem and image. For example, having a gap in your teeth might be cute when you are four, but when you are thirty-four, you likely want a row of teeth, not gaps! A good dentist can give you dental implants that will suit your mouth. Even if you decide you don’t need these services now, you may want them in the future or someone else in you family wants them, so it’s good to have them available.
Dental services come in all shapes in sizes, but the important thing is that you keep yourself and your family happy and have a dentist you can trust. This is why you should spend a bit of time researching your potential dentist before you go under the dental implements so that you are comfortable and happy with your choice. It’s easy enough to do; simply ask around, do your online and offline research, and of course pick the best one from there based on services rendered and how happy you are with that dentist. Make sure the dentist offers a wide range of services and that you are comfortable with your dentist; after all, you’ll be going there at least twice a year and you want someone you enjoy seeing or you won’t be too terribly likely to keep going!

If you read the newspapers, you probably see a lot of stories about the health problems that the country is facing. You see headlines of people suffering from heart attacks, cancer, and other illnesses, but you may not have heard an easy (and delicious) solution to some of these headlines – beer.
Remember, that you should definitely consume all alcoholic beverages in moderation, and if you have any questions about whether this will benefit your health, you should talk to your doctor. Ok, we’ve told you the legal disclaimer, let’s get down to the facts and the research that show that beer, consumed in moderation, can actually help your health.
So how can beer help you to keep you healthy? Well, studies have found that it can actually be good for your heart, just like wine. If you are worried about your heart health, you should obviously exercise and eat right, but drinking two beers a day for men (and one for women), may give some people an extra boost. Remember, the advice is one to two beers a day, so drinking three or four beers a day won’t triple or quadruple these effects of the beer.
What exactly can beer do to help your heart? Well, according to a study done by Tufts University, the consumption of beer in moderate amounts can decrease your cholesterol level, reduce the amount of fibrinogen in your blood (which is a protein that is responsible for blood clotting), and increase the level of antioxidants in your body.
Are all beers created equally? Not really, because although you can get health benefits from all beers, dark beers are actually better for your health than lighter colored beers. Dark beer contains more flavonoids than light beer. Flavonoids come from plants, and are also found in chocolate and red wine. What are the benefits of flavonoids? Flavonoids have been proven to prevent cancer and promote a healthy heart. Sure, you can find flavonoids in other foods, such as fruits and vegetables, but they are also present in high numbers in dark beer.
If heart disease runs in your family, you may want to listen to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, which found in their research that drinking a moderate amount of beer daily can decrease your risk of coronary disease by about 30-40%. This is a great study to show your wife when she complains about you drinking a beer or two every evening. You can just reply with “Sorry honey. I’m doing it for us, not for me.”
No longer do beer drinkers have to switch to wine if they want to get the health benefits of alcohol, because now they can get them from their favorite beverage. Of course, if you want more information about the effects of beer on your health, you should definitely consult your physician. Beer drinking can be dangerous for people who have certain health conditions or who take some medications. If you are already a casual beer drinker, you don’t have to give it up to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.

As I’ve said before, unlike the rest of the country, I believe Colorado is not in a recession and is unlikely to be in one. Our unemployment numbers are among the lowest in the nation. We are losing jobs at a much slower rate than the rest of the country and are still creating jobs in a variety of sectors.
By the time the recession reduces its grip on the nation, we will be well into a recovery based on alternative energy, bioscience, health care, oil and technology. These are Colorado’s prime industries, and they are slated for large transfusions of federal money in the near future.
And executive jobs are still out there. The company I co-own works in executive transition consulting, and the rate at which our clients are cycling through our process has gotten shorter in the last five months, not longer.
This means that for those who know how to search for them executive jobs are plentiful. But these jobs are rarely being given to headhunters and they for sure aren’t advertised. It takes effective and proactive networking to find the top jobs in Colorado.
Here are some tips:
*It takes work* Good networking does not consist of simply going to large, party-type networking events. The chances of finding someone at these kinds of events who wants to hire you are very slim and entirely dependent on serendipity. Effective and proactive networking activities include becoming deeply and visibly involved in professional associations, charities, non-profits and other venues. It means giving back to the community. This is especially true in Colorado, where values such as integrity, generosity and giving still mean something.
*Help others out, rather than getting others to help you* The executives who are looking a little frantic and green around the gills are those who still think that networking consists of meeting people and demanding their help. True networking consists of helping others out, introducing others, and passing on jobs for which you are not qualified. It also means passing on names of those who will help others, both professionally and socially.
*Network at all levels and help every level of individual* I’ve met some executives over the years who were unadulterated title snobs. They only wanted to speak with other executives at their level or above, and would even be rude to “lower level” people, as they called them. This is incredibly stupid. Don’t judge people. You never know to whom you are speaking, or what that individual might be able to do for you.
*Build relationships instead of going for the jugular* Persistence pays off. So does the building of a relationship. Many believe that networking consists of meeting at a networking event and meeting for coffee. Some people have the belief that, after one quick coffee, someone should trust them so much that they will simply open up their “inner-circle” Rolodex. For a skilled and experienced networker, this is networking suicide. My contact list is cherished. I’m not going to open up my friends and business colleagues to people I barely know. Most of us who are well-connected guard that list closer than our wallets. If someone steals my wallet, they just get money. If they steal my contacts, they get my relationships. Relationships are far more valuable than all the money I could have in the bank. If someone gets insistent about being introduced to sensitive people too soon, he or she will never get into my inner-circle Rolodex. If they’re being pushy with me they’ll be pushy with my relationships, as well.
*Get out of “Executive Think.”* The people who run the Big Three automakers truly didn’t see anything wrong with flying to Washington, D.C., on their private corporate jets and saying that their multi-million dollar salaries were “OK.” These people – all evidence to the contrary – aren’t stupid. They are just operating in Executive Think. Executive Think can be dangerous enough when you’re employed, but it is deadly when you’re unemployed. People practicing Executive Think are the spiritual brothers and sisters of Marie Antoinette who, when told that the people were rioting because they were out of bread said “Well, then, let them eat cake!” She didn’t understand that there was no flour available to make either, and assumed that they’d simply run out of bread. While Executive Think will not (yet, anyway) cause one to lose one’s head in a basket as Marie Antoinette did, it can keep one unemployed for a very, very long time. It wouldn’t hurt to perform a reality check on yourself and your family. That way, when you’re networking, you won’t say things as congenitally stupid as Ford CEO Alan Mulally did at last month’s auto bailout hearings.
One final note: Many executives panic in these times and believe they need to leave Colorado. They don’t. Things have been far worse in Colorado than they are now. In 28 years, I’ve never seen anyone need to leave Colorado. In fact, I strongly advise against either leaving Colorado or taking a cut in title or salary. Neither is necessary. What is necessary is to learn the effective ways to get employed here. Colorado is incredibly strong and living here is incredibly wonderful. Instead of panicking, learn what you need to so you can stay and enjoy the best lifestyle in America…or anywhere else.

The HIPAA or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act was passed by congress in 1996 in order to provide HIPAA rights or protection for employees when they change jobs or are involuntarily terminated from their job. The Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act was also designed to prevent health care fraud and to insure that the Department Health and Human Services establish rules that enhance health care system efficiency.
There are many facets to HIPAA and several moving parts to establishing HIPAA requirements. The most common Hippa rights subject matter is contained within Title One and Title Two of the HIPAA act.
Title One: Title one of HIPAA was enacted for the standardization of group health plans as well as certain individual health policies. Title one places regulations on restrictions that group plans can place on benefits for pre-existing conditions. The country would be a beautiful place if no one ever got sick. Unfortunately, we know that sickness is inevitable. Group insurers are allowed to place 12-18 month “exclusions” of coverage on certain pre-existing conditions. Simply put a group insurer may offer group coverage for an individual. However, the insurer may delay coverage for a condition that existed prior to plan enrollment. Title one of the Health Insurance Portability act protects the insurance seeker in that it does not allow insurers to place exclusions on pre-existing conditions if the insurance seeker had creditable coverage for a period prior to enrollment in the new plan. If there is an exclusion period, HIPAA decreases exclusion periods by the length of time that an insurance seeker had creditable coverage. For the sake of clarity of medical insurance portability an example is provided below:
John has recently been laid off from a job he has had for three years. John has had health insurance coverage through his employer’s group health plan for the entire three-year period. John has been treated for a medical condition just 3 weeks prior to being terminated. HIPAA requirements insure that if John is hired to a new job and subsequently applying for health coverage under a new group health plan, the insurer may not place an exclusion period of 12 months on John’s pre-existing condition because he has had creditable group health plan coverage for at least a 12 month period prior to new plan enrollment.
Title Two: Title Two of HIPAA protects HIPAA rights by assigning penalties associated with offenses related to health care. HIPAA rights are further protected under Title Two with the creation of programs that target controlling fraud within the health care system. HIPAA requirements include rules to be drafted to increase the overall effectiveness of the health care system by creating criteria for the distribution of health care information.
The Department of Health and Human Services defines the entities that must comply with HIPAA requirements. Entities include health care providers, health plans and health care billing services that transmit medical information and health records. The Department of Health and Human Services has disseminated five rules that are incorporated in Title Two of HIPAA. Privacy Rule, Transactions and Code Sets Rule, Security Rule, the Unique Rule and the Enforcement Rule. For more information regarding specific HIPAA rules see HIPAA rules at the Texas Low Cost Health Insurance web site.

Are you being treated for low thyroid symptoms, and are you also on birth control pills or undergoing hormone replacement therapy? If so, it’s very important to ask your physician about the possible effects birth control pills or HRT might have on your thyroid, especially if you are suffering from low thyroid symptoms.
Today, experts in diagnosing and treating thyroid conditions know that therapies such as hormone replacement for menopause symptoms and birth control pills may actually exacerbate problems with the thyroid.
High levels of estrogen can interfere with thyroid function, as well as, hormones used in HRT. Such treatments may in effect further shut down the thyroid and cause a whole host of problems.
Ironically, HRT and birth control pills are often prescribed to alleviate hormonal complaints associated with menopause or menstruation problems, including hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances and excessive or irregular periods. Although many of these symptoms are hallmark traits of menopause, they are also symptoms that may be caused by or related to a low thyroid condition.
Ask your primary care physician the all important question, “Can my birth control pills or my hormone replacement therapy be causing my symptoms?” If the answer you receive is “no,” or “there’s really no connection between this and the thyroid,” you should really consider other options available to you.
You should ask this question for another very important reason.
Although it may seem highly unlikely, the physician treating your low thyroid condition may not even be aware you are taking birth control pills or undergoing HRT. If a gynecologist or other medical care provider is prescribing these treatments, it’s possible that it may not be included in your physician’s medical records. Vice versa, the health care provider, may not realize you are being treated for low thyroid either.
Your treatment for low thyroid is unlikely to be successful or have your symptoms alleviated if these key factors that may be having an effect are not addressed. You and your physician must arrive at a solution that works for your health.
It’s very clear in the research available today that the hormones in birth control pills and HRT can disrupt the thyroid function and cause you to have low thyroid symptoms. It’s crucial that you evaluate all the options and all of the aspects of why you might have a thyroid problem. This is the only way to get the answers you need for your own health and wellness.

When I was 2-years-old, I breathed in a fertilizer made of chemicals and that night, I almost died.. Amazingly, I survived. However, my lungs were scarred and permanently damaged giving me severe asthma and bronchitis. After that fateful day, I literally was in and out of the hospital every other week with collapsed lungs, pneumonia and comas and at the age of five, the doctors gave up and said I would not live past five.
The doctors sent me to live full-time for a year in one of the most world renowned research facilities in Denver called the National Jewish Hospital and there they saved my life. Although I was much healthier than before, I was still regularly getting sick with pneumonia and was hospitalized at least twice a year every single year until college when a fateful thing happened.
While home during college on a Thanksgiving break, I came down with double-pneumonia and was hospitalized for ten days. I had a new doctor as my family had moved and he said something that changed my life forever. He said that if I improved the way I ate, got regular sleep and sunshine, I would reduce the number of times I ended up in the hospital.
Now that may not seem that radical to you. Every day doctors are giving us advice about nutrition and health. But how seriously do we take them and in dealing with asthma or bronchitis, nutrition is not typically the first thing that comes to a doctor’s mind. But for some reason, his advice really hit home and from that point on, I began radically changing my lifestyle, so much so, that I did not go back into the hospital for a full fifteen years!
The bottom line is that easy and simple changes, when taken to heart, can bring you great health when it comes to bronchitis and asthma.
What were the changes I made? Here they are. These are simple, yet amazing and will give you big improvements too.
1. Organic Foods: I started to learn about what organic foods were and added them to my meals. By eating less hormones, antibiotics and chemicals that are in non-organic foods, I was making my body healthier and stronger.
2. Fresh and Raw Foods: When you eat uncooked fruits and vegetables, you get the full nutrients and enzymes available. As soon as food is heated to over 118%, enzymes begin to die so when we do not eat enough raw foods, we become deficient and our bodies begin to get sick. Having one raw apple a day is not enough. To really give yourself the biggest boost, you should have the majority or more than 50% of your daily food come from fresh and uncooked foods such as strawberries, melons and salads.
3. Multi-Vitamins: Many of us are deficient in nutrients and we do not even know it. Small symptoms and health issues can come up that might be easy to hide with medicine, but the real cause of the problem can sometimes be fixed with a good vitamin. To make sure you get a vitamin that truly works, make sure it is based on whole and organic foods, otherwise your body will just pee them out. The one I have seen the most drastic improvements from is from Juice+. Not only have I had fewer colds and flus, but so has my 4-year-old son.
4. Exercise and Sunshine: There are so many benefits of exercising to help our lungs get stronger, but the sun is also very important and can play a big role as there are vitamins your body makes only from being in the sun. At the same time, sunshine improves your mood – a double-whammy benefit!
5. Animal Products: This is a tougher one for many people, but I chose to become a vegetarian and then even a vegan. My lung problems were so severe, that I needed to take dramatic steps to get better, but most people can see big improvements even just by reducing the amount of meats or dairy they eat. To help you decide if you can reduce some of the meats and dairy products you eat, check out a few support forums where you can see what others have experienced as well.
Nothing can replace the great miracles today’s doctors, health-practitioners and nurses provide. When facing any illness, they need to be your first resource for help. I absolutely recommend doing whatever possible to eat more fresh and natural foods and leading a more natural lifestyle. I know without a doubt that you will see great improvements in your lung health while feeling more vibrant and energetic at the same time..
There are great websites and forums to help you get more information on natural and alternative health methods. They are well worth your time and research.

Did you know that Money Magazine named Colorado Springs the number one best place to live? It is considered a large city by US standards and ranks just below Denver in regards to population as well.
Offers all the conveniences of the big city, medical and vision services are no exception. In Colorado Springs, eye doctors work with a wide cross section of the population so they’re used to coordinating with multiple insurance carriers and flexible payment arrangements. Some Colorado Springs optometrists even offer a sliding payment scale based on income to try and assist clients without any insurance available.
In addition to general eye services, LASIK in Colorado Springs means state-of the-art equipment with equal flexibility in payment options. You may think laser eye surgery won’t fit in with your budget, but the cost associated with the LASIK procedure continues to grow increasingly affordable as equipment allows for added efficiency.
Not all employers offer vision insurance anymore or plans covering LASIK either, but they may instead offer participation in discount plans that won’t cover expenses, but still save you money in the long run. Some medical carriers also offer automatic reductions for vision services independent of full-fledged vision coverage.
Don’t forget to consider utilizing any medically restricted accounts you have either. All vision purchases can be made from a health savings account, flexible spending account, or any cafeteria plan with any balance, large or small.
Within and beyond, eye doctors are willing to work with patients more than ever to assure healthy vision. Don’t forget about the health of your eyes when you can find a provider who works closely to help you meet financial obligations.

Some people may not be too happy with where they are living and may be thinking about moving to Europe. Europe can be a great place to move to. Many countries in Europe have amazing health care. They also have more relaxed work environments. Other people might be interested in the variety or cultures in close proximity.
People are moving to Europe for a variety of reasons. One of the most important issues that make people move to Europe is health care. America has a flawed health care system and everyone is very aware of it. If you cannot afford to pay for your health care then you are out of luck. It is a system that only benefits the rich and leaves the poor to suffer and often die. People get stuck in bad situations too. If you are sick and have no insurance then you won’t get treated. If you are living from paycheck to paycheck and you have no insurance, and you get sick, then you are up a creak without a panel. This affects so many people in America it is easy to see why so many are moving to Europe.
Many people are also moving to Europe for better jobs. Most jobs in Europe are not just better meaning that they pay more or are just nicer jobs to work. Many jobs also just have better work packages. Europeans in general have more vacation time, more sick time and better benefits packages. It really shows through their society as well. People are in general less stressed out and even healthier than in countries that work their people to the bone. It is even apparent in their children’s lives. Children go into school much later in the day. They also are given lunch breaks long enough to allow them to return home for lunch. Is it any wonder that most European children are doing so well academically as compared to other countries? For most people that is reason enough for moving to Europe.
One of the most attractive things about Europe is the closeness to lots of other countries. Europe is so diverse in such a small area. This can be very attractive to people that are looking to diversify their lives. Moving to Europe is a great way to get exposed to all sorts of different people with different points of view. One can easily in just one-day travel from England to France, to Germany, to Poland. The whole time one is experiencing different languages, different foods and different customs. Moving to Europe can be a great way to expose not only oneself to many cultures and histories but also a great way to educate ones children. There is something to be said about exposing your children to a world environment. This type of exposure can be very rewarding and can in the future make your child a more valuable employee.
